I Have Returned To Have My Vengeance

Dear ladies and gents,

I used to watch Star Trek when I was in primary school. Not that we had many options back then, but it was interesting enough to make me tune in. And then, just like that, I lost interest. For the life of me I can’t remember why.

So, I’m far from a rabid fan. But I know there are plenty of you out there who will appreciate the new trailer, sorry teaser trailer, for Star Trek Into Darkness. And yes in case you were wondering – that is Mr. Cabbagepatch.

While the debate rages on whether Mr. Cabbagepatch is playing Gary Mitchell, Khan or someone else entirely, a couple of observations if you will:

- WTF with the teaser trailers? Let’s call spade a spade – it is a minute long, it is a trailer. I understand that nowadays with the social media marketing and publicity people have to keep coming up with new ways to keep the audience on their toes, but really? For Star Trek? If you sent out a postcard with just date and time where to show up, the fans would be there. Sheesh.

- Yay for Simon Pegg!

- That’s a whole lot of water action going on.

- It is nice to see that the studio is taking full advantage of a properly trained British actor (doing the voice-overs and all). Sure, he is still playing a villain but one baby step at the time.

- My shallow observation of the day – Mr. Cabbagepatch looks much (MUCH!) better in motion then in pictures. And don’t even try to argue with me on this one, I find him dishy but it’s a fact.

Check out the teaser trailer below and the 9-minute preview (snort, 9 minutes, that’s like an eternity!) will be shown before the Hobbit.

Starring Martin Freeman. And Mr. Cabbagepatch. And that brings us right back to Sherlock. Which has been pushed back until 2014 (possibly) because the dynamic duo is so busy. It’s nice to see they are both working steadily on quality projects and I won’t begrudge them that (even though we’ll have to wait even longer to see about that bloody cliffhanger, ugh).

Anyhow, I digress. Star Trek Into Darkness trailer.
