New Torchwood – did you love it or hate it?
-
Dear readers,
have you seen Torchwood Miracle Day over the weekend? What did you think?
To get negative stuff out of the way – I will admit I find it a bit sad only Gwen and Captain Jack Harkness (or as he shall be known from now on Captain Jack Bollocks, LOVE that!) remain from the original team. Also and I might be wrong about this but it seems we only get to see Cardiff in the first episode. Hopefully I’m wrong. But if I’m right, that just sucks.
On the plus side – it didn’t suck! I know it’s the early days. And John Barrowman and the gang have a lot to live up because let’s face it Torchwood Children of the Earth was bloody brilliant. But it didn’t suck. If it is not obvious, I’m really, REALLY overjoyed it didn’t suck. I’d hate it if they ruined it. I love the premise and the story line has been intriguing enough for me to want to tune in next week. I still don’t get how Bill Pulman factors in the story but I guess we will learn soon enough.
So tell me dear readers, have you seen the new Americanized Torchwood? Or do you maybe plan to see it all in one go? And if you did see it what did you think of this new version?
Edit – I’ve just added a new post after I’ve seen the last 2 episodes.
I leave you with the promo for the next week’s episode below.

Oh My God! I have been waiting to see that hubba hubba Captain Jack, and the rest., loved it, just can’t wait for the next one. Excellent, way to go. More More More More. Thank you Torchwood.
The Americans have yet again proved that they can
Ruin anything they touch, it will only get worse
They are only
Interested in ratings so it will just he generic American programming designed to appeal to the largest group of people possible the BBC should be ashamed to have there name anywhere near it
Debbie, I agree it has been too long (way too long) since Children of the Earth.
Morg,
I wouldn’t necessarily agree that Torchwood is ruined. As I said I quite liked the first episode. But they do have a lot to live up to. I would hope they wouldn’t take the “easy” route in terms of storyline just because that would appeal to the majority of viewers. I mean last series was absolutely gruesome to watch at times and each character went through his/her own version of hell. But in my opinion that was what made it so riveting to watch. To make it more appetizing (for lack of a better word) would be an insult. Torchwood never was about appetizing.
But I guess we won’t know until the next episode
I have watched both episodes now, it still hasnt got of the ground i found, but that could have just been me. I know they are introducing the new characters slowly and the story line but i think this story could be alot shorter, and to me its been americanised.
BIG SUCK. THEY GOT RID OF THE GOOD ONES. BRING REST OF THEM TEAM BACK I KNOW THEY DIED OF ORIGINAL SHOW .BUT THIS ONE GETS WORST EACH WEEK.
