True Blood – love or hate?

Dear readers,
have you been watching True Blood?
I will preface this by saying it usually does take me a few episodes to get into True Blood again. Dunno is it because the break between the seasons is long or because each episode is an hour but yes it does take me a few episodes (same thing happens to me with Dexter so I suspect that might be it).
But this season I’m finding it a bit well… meh. Alexander Skarsgard notwithstanding.
It didn’t help that I could not remember much from last season finale (which was also a bit of a let down if I remember correctly). Then when I managed to catch up on what is happening to each of the characters again I was a bit meh. And the acting is… well… was it always this hammy and campy? I realize it’s True Blood so a certain dose of ham and camp is to be expected, I have no problem with that. It is just I find the whole experience a bit… bland. And off.
Maybe I have still not passed the mark when I get into it again. Maybe I’m being silly and it’s still the same quality.
