Torchwood: Miracle Day trailer finally dropped. And it looks slick and polished and well… Hollywood?! Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
You know how some girls will not want to tell you where they got something because they want to make sure they are the only person that has that top/book/whatever? They are not really down with sharing?
What I’m trying to say is that I am not going to be a selfish biatch since a) it is silly and b) I’d really like people to get into Torchwood because I think it’s a great series (and I saw one too many good series cancelled because none watched what I watched). So I’m all about sharing. The thing is even though the new series looks slick and polished, a part of me wishes they didn’t go all Hollywood (although I do not mind that means we get Mehki Phifer and Bill Pullman thrown into the mix).
Because Children of the Earth? That was some seriously good television. And it was made by BBC! So it’s not like BBC can’t do slick and polished too. By the way if you still haven’t seen Children of the Earth, I’d urge you to do so. Not because I think the plots will be connected but because it’s just good television.
I can understand they are trying to introduce the series to a whole new audience. Then there is money to consider. And while I don’t think Russel T. Davies will jeopardize the integrity of the what the show is about still… well, I guess we will have to wait and see.
Also just one more thing – Starz original?! No, seriously?! I know that is *technically* true for this series, but seriously? Imagine me pulling for the auntie Beeb. But yeah – it’s a BBC original. And you can stick that in your pipe and smoke it, ok?
Anyhow, Torchwood: Miracle Day trailer below.
