Where are they now? – Dynasty

  • Dear faithful readers,

if you even try to pretend you didn’t watch Dynasty back in the day… well… I mean we all watched it at some point, no? It was after all one of the most popular series at the time. In retrospect I cannot say whether it was so good or we didn’t have much choice but at one time a lot (A LOT) of people tuned in.

So let’s see where are some of former Dynasty actors now.

John Forsythe – Unfortunately John Forsythe passed away last year (at the age of 92). After Dynasty he did a good few TV movies, series called The Powers That Be and he was also the voice of Charlie in both of Charlie’s Angels movies (as he was in the original series).

Linda Evans – Linda Evans did five TV movies in the 90s after she finished Dynasty but after that she pretty much disappeared from TV screens. She reappeared in 2009 to take part in UK version of Hell’s Kitchen (which she also won).

Joan Collins – ah good old Joan! Contrary to her on-screen nemesis Joan was busier over the last two decades – she had a number of guest roles on very popular series including The Nanny, Roseanne, Will and Grace, Hotel Babylon, Rules of Engagement. And funnily enough Footballers’ Wives. She also did West End theater.

Gordon Thomson – oh I didn’t know that Gordon Thomson (who played the part of Adam), also played Mason Capwell on Santa Barbara (Mason 3.0 as it were). Anyhow Thomson has been busy – he did a number of soaps (Days of Our Lives, Young and the Restless and the aforementioned Santa Barbara). He guest starred on a number of series including Baywatch, Nanny, Beverly Hills 90210, Silk Stalkings and State of Grace.

John James – John James played Jeff Colby and after Dynasty he had roles on two soaps – All My Children and As the World Turns.

Michael Nader – Michael Nader played Dex Dexter aka as Alexis’ third husband (on the side note who (WHO?) came up with the characters’ names I wonder). Anyhow after Dynasty he had a longer stint on All My Children, but his contract was terminated after he was arrested for drug possession. In recent years he had guest roles on Cold Case and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Jack Coleman – well we all remember Jack Coleman from Heroes, no? In fact I keep thinking oooh look that’s Steven! Hm yes. My insanity aside Jack Coleman was rather busy – he did CSI: Miami, Nip/Tuck, According to Jim, Becker and after Heroes he had a guest role on House M. D., the Mentalist and The Office. Off topic but he is also a descendant of Benjamin Franklin.

Heather Locklear – Heather Locklear (or the woman who doesn’t seem to age) was also busy in the last two decades – she did a number of TV movies and guest starred on a number of popular series including Scrubs, Ally McBeal and Rules of Engagement. But her two most popular roles since Dynasty ended were on Spin City and of course Melrose Place (where she played the horribly bitchy and sometimes crazy Amanda Woodward).

Pamela Sue Martin – Pamela played Fallon Carrington Colby 1.0 (she was later replaced with Emma Samms). Since leaving Dynasty she did four TV movies and guest stints on That 70s Show and the L Word. She also owns a theater company in Idaho.

Pamela Bellwood – Pamela Bellwood played the role of Claudia Blaisdel Carrington and if I remember correctly her character had some sort of a breakdown? Since she left the series to become a full time mum, she did a few TV movies and appearances on Broadway. Off topic but she appeared in Playboy too.
