My obligatory Christmas telly – what is yours?

  • Dear faithful readers,

as I promised here is a list of my mandatory television watching over the holiday period. It is definitely not the coolest list I have made that is for sure. On the positive side at least I have not listed Home Alone :) But it’s the holidays and I feel you should watch whatever you damn well please without feeling naff about it.

So tell me dear readers about your mandatory Christmas viewing -and the trust me the naffer the better, we don’t judge here :)

    Harry Potter

Christmas is not Christmas without seeing at least one Harry Potter. I don’t know how this tradition started but I quite like it. It also usually involves a plate of cakes so that might have something to do with it too.

    Sound of Music

You cannot miss it really – there are reruns of Sound of Music every single year without fail. It is no wonder we all know ALL songs.

    A Christmas Story

This has got to be one of the most hilarious Christmas movies I have ever seen. If you haven’t seen it yet make sure you do this year. And if it doesn’t have you in stitches you can come here and call me a silly sausage.

    Ten Commandments

Not because I like this movie. I don’t really and not because it is an old movie (I do love my old movies). But another one that is stuck on repeat every single year. And I usually see bits of it before I pass out from too much food.

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

I must have seen Lord of Rings about gazillion times by now. No, I’m exaggerating – about a million times :) But it’s cool since it means I can read a book, grab a snack, go to the loo and talk on the phone (and not necessarily in that order) without missing a thing. Plus it’s always nice to see Viggo Mortensen, little hobbits and of course my favorite Gandalf :) Oh and New Zealand, I’m a sucker for New Zealand.

    Dr. Who Christmas Special

Ha! And I don’t even watch Dr. Who regularly.

    Wallace and Gromit

I do love a good cartoon. And Wallace and Gromit are one of the best.
