Dexter and that other creepy dude

  • dexter

    Dear faithful readers,

a few weeks ago I was way, waaaaaaaay behind with Dexter. So behind in fact that I still have not even seen the first episode. But I have finally caught up. And do you know I quite like it.

Yes I have heard a good few ramblings that it was a bit slow going this year and I do have to agree with that. Compared to what we are used to this season of Dexter has been slow and not every episode ended up with a mother of all cliff hangers. But I have also noticed if I have a backlog of episode to watch (the same thing happened with True Blood) it makes me eager to watch (I guess it has something to do with me just being too damn curious to see what happens next :)

Anyhow since we are in the fourth season already it was expected that Dexter’s character would change and well he did change a little bit or as much as you could expect from a serial killer who has suddenly become a family man. And I quite enjoyed Jennifer Carpenter (aka as Debra Morgan) performance. She did grate on my nerves just so but even though she can still utterly annoying we have seen the softer side of Deb.

But without a shadow of the doubt the star of this season is John Lithgow. I thought Jimmy Smits did a good job last season but John Lithgow far surpassed any expectations I might have had. You know most of the time I think of him as that strange (maybe deranged would be a better word) guy/alien from 3rd Rock from the Sun and I tend to forget he does villains so, soooooo well. His performance in Dexter is so good he totally creeps me out. He does come off as a sociopath and utterly, utterly creepy dude you really don’t want to mess with.

Now we still have one episode of Dexter to go and allegedly there is some big twist coming up and with it being well Dexter I cannot even begin to imagine what it might be.

So tell me dear readers, have you enjoyed this season of Dexter or did you find it meh? Do let me know in the comments below.
