Oh heavens BSG does get better with each episodes – I have not suffered such a brain fry since well since the last episode of Lost.
Such a shame there are only a handful of episodes left. However me thinks we would not be getting answers if the end was not in sight.

Be as it may – there was loads of info to digest in this particular episode (and I’m still not sure that I have comprehend it all, what can I say I’m a blond).

So it was Ellen and the Final 5 who invented (not sure what is the PC term here, I would hate to insult any Cylons) the hybrid Cylons. And Ellen thought it was a good idea to model the first hybrid Cylon after hew own father.

Oh honestly Ellen for someone so smart that was a bit silly. Talk about the ewwwwww factor. That one had disaster written all over it.
And Cavil did get his revenge by fiddling with the Final 5’s memories, pushing them out of an airlock and making them live through the apocalypse once again. And lets not forget Cavil did sleep with Ellen back on New Caprica in a return for Tigh’s release. Which just brought the ew factor to a new level.

But all ewness aside we did actually learn how the hybrid models came about, what happened with Cylons and Amy can sleep a bit more easily since now we know there was a 7th model that went under the name Daniel. Allegedly he was an artistic type. That was until Cavil fiddled with the genetic material for Daniel (that man cannot stop fiddling with things) and he was not seen again.

Which brings us right where we have started – obsessing once again who could Daniel possibly be?
Any ideas?

The thing I found most fascinating about this episode (all revelations aside) was the exchange between Ellen and Cavil. How he resents her for making him more human and less machine, while she firmly believes they are all better with their ability to love and free will.

Ellen’s observation that for someone who wants to be a machine so badly, Cavil is run by the pettiest and lowliest of all human emotions – anger, jealousy and revenge – was extremely poignant and it did make me conclude one thing.

In a way Cylons and humans are more similar then they think – not only are they all emotional as hell, have the need to believe in a high power and are capable of destruction but both had their creations turn against them.

So where do we go from here I wonder. But one thing is for sure with the rate revelations are coming we only have days before we are hit with another brain fry. And knowing BSG writers – a fresh dose of questions that we will want answered.
