What is your feel-good TV?

Yesterday I was watching an episode of Dexter. And as I started doodling in my notebook and noting stuff like – how to recognize a serial killer in a supermarket I decided my list of things I learned watching Dexter can wait for a little while.

Let me make it clear this does not mean I am giving up on my serial killers/blood splatter analysts, vampires, grumpy bollocks doctors and other assorted unsavory folks. I love my Dexter, Supernatural and True Blood.

But I did want to hear from you – what is your feel good TV? And no man folk, I’m not talking about porn.

What are the TV shows that make you all warm and fuzzy inside and tickle you pink rather then make you jump back in horror?

For me usually anything with Stephen Fry does the trick – be it QI or Kingdom (especially now when I can shout I’ve been there, I’ve been there! Don’t ask me I don’t know why I do that, but I do). Kingdom is like a cup of hot chocolate or cocoa under a blanket on a cold, blustery winter day.

Any of the old British comedies also do the trick – be it Only Fools and Horses, Blackadder or Keeping up Appearances. These are the shows I grew up with and I always know Hyacinth Bucket (it is pronounced Bouquet!) will make me laugh. And it doesn’t even matter I have it seen it before.

Then there are the British mini series like Poirot or Midsomer murders, which I know are not a big deviation from the blood and gore but somehow the pretty English countryside makes me worth it a while.

From the American series I do have to admit I enjoy my Ugly Betty even though I do not think the writing is as good as it was last season. But it does have that feel good factor plus I love to see what new fashions they will come up with.

Another American show that makes for feel-good-TV is Eli Stone. Sure it could have turned into a male version of Ally McBeal but it didn’t and I quite like it. Oh and did you know one of the first roles Jonny Lee Miller ever played was a non-speaking part of Daisy’s toyboy on Keeping up Appearances? Now that did give me the giggles.

So tell me dear readers what is your feel-good TV?
