Jeffrey Dean Morgan resurrected (yet again)
-
Oh good heavens, I had to read this twice before I could believe it.
You know I used to be a big fan of Grey’s Anatomy at one point. Sure it is cheese, but it was good cheese. It had thrilling storyline, witty one liners, plenty of gore it was you know – fun. And good. And interesting.
But then it just went downhill really fast. Maybe it is because Grey’s was commissioned for 8 seasons, so it was ok to have a rubbishy start, a thrilling middle (usually just about the time sweeps swooped in sort to speak), then boring drawn out bit and then sparkling end of season. They just did not have to try that hard.
And maybe you can get away with it one season (think Lost). But you certainly cannot get away with it for 2 seasons (think Heroes).
The latest rumors (read Aussielo) have it that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will take a break from his much anticipated Watchmen duties and make a return visit to Seattle Grace.
As a ghost, good spirit or an evil twin well anything is possible with Shonda Rhimes in charge. And while I am delighted we will see some more of Jeffrey Dean Morgan (because lets face it for any of you following Grey’s will agree with me that he had the best storyline and it also helps that the man is charming and gorgeous) I hope Ms Rhimes will not make him into a one-trick pony just so to boost her November sweeps.
So I hope she has a good story to tell to justify resurrecting this poor man second time around. Or is the third time around? The man has been resurrected so many times I have lost count.
And speaking of boosting the ratings – Mary McDonnell (yes our very own president Roslin of Battlestar Galatica) is set to appear in a multistory arc! That Shonda Rhimes has not shame – she will get anything to get some new viewers. But appealing to the die-hard Battlestar Galatica fanatics now that is a stroke of genius.
