Stephen Fry Appreciation Monday – St. Trinians

  • Sony Pictures Premiere of

Dear readers happy Stephen Fry Appreciation Monday!

May the good Lord help me I have watched St. Trinians. And when I evoke God’s name, well that should tell you something.

The good thing is I have watched it so you do not have to waste time on that, what is the appropriate word, hm rubbish?

There is so much wrong with this movie – and by this I mean beside the plot which is just plain horrible.

Who in the world thought it would be funny to put Rupert Everett in drag? Honestly that is one handsome man. Scrap that gorgeous man.
But he makes for a nasty woman. And those orthopedic shoes honestly (but when I think about it they were probably the only ones that came in his size).

Then there is that dreadful character that goes by the name of Russell Brand. Could someone, anyone please enlighten me what is so special about it him?
Apart from his proclivity for horrible shoes and padded jackets – is he trying to emulate Krystal from Dynasty? Hair wise I’m sure he is taking tips from Joan Collins because there is not other explanation for that bird’s nest on his head. His character’s name is Flash Harry. If they named him Flashy Harry it would be more suited he looks like someone who would flash you while you are waiting at the bus stop.

Then there is the Mischa Farton (sorry I’ve been reading Perez Hilton and I cannot remember what is her real name).

The only saving grace well the only 2 saving graces are Colin Firth (still gorgeous) and Stephen Fry. But you know I’m obliged to say that we are running Stephen Fry Appreciation Monday after all.
Secretly I’m hoping our lovely Mr. Fry got a nice, big wad of cash for his appearance – and that is all I will say about that.

I think I’ll get started on Wilde next week. Some torment, misery and wit should be good for me after St. Trinians.

Oh and I just had to put up this picture of Russell Brand – can you imagine he does it on purpose. Bloody hell!

Well, I actually like Russell. You’re bothered by his shoes? Jeez.

  • I know, I know I’m a horrible shallow blond person… I’m shallow as a puddle.

And yes it is the shoes… and the fact I really do not find him funny. Not even entertaining.
As I said I’m probably missing something, but I saw him in a couple of movies now and to me at least it seems he is trying a bit too hard.
