Dishiest British men on the telly
-
I have a thing for British lads (and no Stephen Fry is not in that category). I am still unclear what might be the root cause of that particular predicament.
Too much BBC when I was younger? Is it the accents because damn and blast them to hell they have been my downfall a number of times? Or is it because of Agatha Christie and Jane Austen in equal measures? To be honest, I do not really have a clue. But since we are all about equality here at Couchslobs and since we have covered the hottest ladies of Sci-Fi, the hot old guys our mums fancy (and do not want to admit it) I think it is time to do a list of the most dishiest British men on telly. Oh there are plenty – trust me. And I’m not going to even include Hugh Laurie on the list. Or Hugh Grant for that matter (his floppy hair annoys me).
John Barrowman of Torchwood – do not get me wrong I like my Battlestar Galatica and Star Trek from time to time, but I was never really a hardcore Sci-Fi fan. And then Torchwood happened. I think John Barrowman is to blame. Even if you consider that his hair has that I-have-been-gelled-to-perfection look about it. I guess he is the only one who can get away with snogging people at random.
Ruper Penry Jones Of Spooks – I have pledged my allegiance on the altar of the gorgeousness that is Rupert Penry Jones on a number of occasions already.
Colin Firth – ah long before he was Mark Darcy in Bridget Jones, Colin Firth was Mr. Darcy in televised adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. And recently I saw him in excellent TV series Born Equal. And he might be a bit thinning on the top, but damn and blast Colin Firth is still dishy.
Alan Davies from QI – ah bless him and his “it’s a blue whale” catch phrase. Then again sit anyone next to Stephen Fry and they are bound to come off as a half wit. At least Andy Davies is pretty (and pretty damn funny too).
Jonny Lee Miller from Eli Stone – or Sickboy from Trainspotting. Or one of Angelina Jolie’s ex husbands. Or the lovable Eli Stone. Do not tell me you didn’t know he was British?
Matthew Rhys of Brothers and Sisters – oh of all the pretty boys from Brothers and Sisters, I have to say Matthew Rhys has got to be my favorite. Oh yes he is British as well.
Mark Sheppard of Battlestar Galatica – we only saw him a few times on Battlestar Galatica, but Romo Lampkin was one memorable character. That dead cat was just beyond me.
Alan Rickman – last but definitely not least and even though he is not really a TV actor I simply had to include Alan Rickman because that man is absolutely dishy. And that voice, bloody hell I could listen to him talk all day long.
