Stephen Fry Appreciation Monday – I Love Stephen Fry

Dear readers happy Stephen Fry Appreciation Monday!
I do hope you realize I have not gone bonkers and decided to profess my love for Stephen Fry.
I am really fond of the man but I’m talking about a afternoon play that aired on BBC Radio 4 a few weeks ago.Afternoon play – on radio no less.
It is not that I mind the radio, its excellent for news and music and traffic updates. I think the last person that actually listened to radio dramas was my late great grandmother. So I was a bit skeptical. But I love Harry Potter audio books, I love Mr. Fry podgrams so I thought what the hell I love to listen to him talk might as well.
I love Stephen Fry was written by Jon Canter and stars Lesley Sharp as Jackie, Phil Davis as Terry and our illustrious Mr. Fry as himself.
It is a story about Jackie, who is going through a bit of a midlife crisis and is bored of her snoring butcher husband (he is a regular butcher not serial killer type of character) so she starts indulging in fantasies about other men.
And can you imagine she has her heart set on our lovely Mr. Fry (rather then Brad Pitt, good woman obviously she has some standards) because he is everything her husband is not. Namely witty, smart, eloquent and gay.
I take back everything I ever thought about radio drama (mainly that it is a radio equivalent of telenovalas, although truth be told I do not know what gave me that idea).
I love Stephen Fry is funny, heart warming and decidedly not boring – in fact I could not believe that it was over so fast only to realize I was listening to it for 45 minutes.
Well I guess I will have to check out BBC 4 Radio from now.
Do have a listen if you can, you will not be sorry.

I sleep with Stephen every night – I have an ‘I love Stephen’ pillow case with a pic of him & a big red heart. I had a lovely dream about him, he came yo my house & sat at the table drinking tea & chatting. Bliss
