How to get Steven Spielberg’s attention?
-
Oh I absolutely love this story I have read via Pop Candy today. You can read all about over at The Wordslinger blog (make sure to check it out, there are some great Stephen King related articles).
You know how we love our Stephen King books here at Couchslobs. Plus I know we do have some hard core Stephen King fans that pop by from time to time, so they’ll probably love this too.
Well it turns out that in 1984 Stephen King and Peter Straub wrote the novel called The Talisman. It is a fantasy coming of age story and not really a horror story much to the bafflement of many critics who decided that is the reason not to like it (oh lighten up will ya?!).
Be as it may even though some critics might have panned it, the fans loved it (I have not read it myself and all I will say is damn and 3 shots of blast I was in bookstore yesterday!).
But this where the story gets interesting. Steven Spielberg bought the movie rights 25 years ago, however the movie never saw the light of the day.
Now one brilliant Canadian director Mathieu Ratthe took it upon himself to create a demo for the movie in a bid to catch Spielberg’s attention. And I have to say it looks fantastic and I have not even read the book.
Well lets hope that the power of Internet will help Mathieu Ratthe on his own personal quest and that his brilliant trailer will get him noticed.
The trailer is down below, make sure to check it out.
