How does the song go Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me? Well I am interested in the thrill me part.

I am not talking about shoe fetishes or new handbags or exotic fruits used in whichever kinky way. I am talking about thrillers as a movie genre.

With nothing on the telly, I have gone back to watching movies. The thing is while I do like movies with whiz bangs and doodahs, a good thriller – a really good thriller with twists and turns that will make your brain reel are quite difficult to find.

I do have a few of my all time favorites that I can watch time and time again, but I would love to hear some of our faithful readers’ suggestions. I am sure I am missing something so I would love to hear what are your favorite thrillers.

Here is my list these are good quality chewy thrillers that I can watch time and time again (even though I do know how it is going to end up).

Fight Club – Fincher at his best.

Se7en – this movie left me physically sick the first time I have watched it.

Memento – its backwards, how can you not love it?

Anything by Alfred Hitchcock – all hail to the greatest master of suspense

The Usual Suspect – Kevin Spacey at his best.

LA Confidential – one movie with Russel Crowe that I have really, really liked.

The 6th Sense – this one made me love M. Night Shyamalan. And then I saw The Happening.

Primal Fear – the first time I ever became aware of Edward Norton.

Snatch – Mr. Guy Ritchie before he got Swept Away (why, why oh why?) Oh and for Jericho fans – this one you should really see!

The Game – one and only movie where I actually enjoyed Michael Douglas’ performance

So lets hear it, have you seen any good thrillers recently?

OK, Berta, were we separated at birth?

The only one on this list I did not see was The Game, which I now obviously need to see. All the rest of the films on here I either loved or greatly enjoyed. (And agree about The Happening. We actually walked out.)

Fight Club, Snatch and Se7en I can watch anytime, anywhere, no matter what point of the movie is on when I turn it on. (it’s just a total coincidence that Brad Pitt is in all three, I swear!) And Snatch is FUNNY.

Edward Norton became one of my favorite actors based on his roles in Primal Fear and American History X.

I simply cannot improve upon this list.

  • Amy :) Oh you simply have to watch the Game… it is not Fincher’s best work, but it is thrilling enough until the last second (literally :)

Snatch is hilarious :) If you havent seen it you might enjoy Lock,Stock and 2 smoking barrels also a Guy Ritchie movie.

And I saw American History X it is really really good.

Oh and I forgot the Life of David Gale (its with Kevin Spacey), if you havent seen it you must!
