Stephen Fry Appreciation Monday – things I learned watching Blackadder
Dear faithful readers, happy Stephen Fry Appreciation Monday!
Anyone else suffering from Fry-itis withdrawal symptoms? And yes before you ask I have made up that word just now.
With no podgram for ages and not even Dork talk to cheer me up I don’t even mind reading about chutney, goats, wooden batons and Stephen Fry over at Richard Madeley’s blog. Having said that you should check it out – if nothing else then for the pic it gave me such a giggle.
Fry-itis is a condition and on top of my allergies which make my eyes itch, I am not a happy camper. Be as it may, at least we still have Stephen Fry Appreciation Mondays.
So today I present to you things I learned watching Blackadder (I cannot believe I still haven’t done this one, it is one of my favorite shows after all).
- Baldrick always has a cunning plan.
- Having said that the idea of cunning according to Baldrick and the bog standard definition of cunning are 2 separate things.
- Security is not a dirty word – crevice and leak is.
- What constitutes a valid attempt of pretending you are insane –a pair of knickers on your head and 2 pencils in your nostrils
- What to do if you step on a land mine? Jump 200 feet in the air and scatter yourself over a wide area.
- Do not have a mustache handy? Use a dead slug as a substitute
- Baldrick’s recipe for coffee – a cup of mud, dandruff instead of sugar and spit for milk
- Rat a Van is not actually a rat au vain, but a rat that has been ran over by a van
- One thing that you learn in the army is to never ignore the pooh-pooh. Well I haven’t been in the army but I did know that one.
- Hugh Laurie or should that be the gorgeous Georgina looks good in pink.
- There has never been a case of cuter ruddy cheeks then those of General Sir Anthony Cecil Hogmanay Melchett (although the promise of covering the gorgeous Georgina in pepper and sneezing all over her sounds slightly disturbing).
So what have you learned watching Blackadder?

Hahaha, I’m so happy to have stumbled upon this site. I do have a special place for Blackadder and Mr. Fry in my heart.
Jill welcome and feel free to pop by anytime… Stephen Fry Appreciation is on every monday
That sounds a bit pervy doesnt it?
Is it really ever too pervy?
Nah not really
Besides at least Mr. Fry is an interesting object to perve over…
