Lost - talking points

I gave it a few days for anyone and their gran to catch up with Lost season finale. I do have to admit I almost gave up on Lost year but I think this year they have captured that old Lost magic again. Because yes we did learn who was in a coffin and not in some deep, philosophical roundabout way but we actually got a full headshot. Of course there are still numerous questions to wreck your brains over (it would not be Lost after all were it not for that).
So lets start:
- Charlotte staying on the island – why? Trying to find where she was born, baby of the initial Dharma people?
- Daniel – where did get to after the island disappeared, it is not like they can get stranded on the island now.
- Jin dead or alive? I think it’s a bit fishy (pardon the pun) sure the boat exploded however hatch imploded and there were still survivors.
- Which ties in with who does Sun blame for Jin’s alleged death? Her father and ? My money was on Whitmore but would she approach him then and talk about common interest (although that could be a cunning plan on her part)? Jack of course think he is the one to blame, but wouldn’t that be Kate after all she was the one who said she would get Jin back. Ben would be another suspect, if Jeremy Bentham visited Sun and told her Ben was responsible for setting the bomb off. Or maybe she blames herself – survivor’s guilt and all.
- How did Ben get off the island exactly after he was done turning the donkey wheel and why can’t he return? And most importantly why didn’t he get frostbite turning that metal without mits, hello.
- Where was that cold cave anyway, why was it so cold and what were those hieroglyphs on the walls?
- How did little Aaron survive that helicopter crash? Me think he has much more important role like those Cylon-human hybrid babies in BSG.
- Kate’s dream – on the phone she heard whispers in reverse; good people at Lostpedia have a quote “The Island needs you. You have to go back before it’s too late”. Meanwhile Claire told her not to take Aaron back. Mixed messages anyone?
- Jack’s dad keeps popping up and if he is angel of death why didn’t Jack die already? If we assume he is dead, that would mean Claire is dead too although I’m not convinced - writers love to throw us a curve ball.
- If they all have to go back does that mean Jack and Ben will have to find Desmond as well? What about Walt, will he have to go back as well?
- Is Jack the only one who wants to go back? Sayid could be manipulated by Ben, Sun might want to go back to see if Jin made it after all (but where did he get to even if he is alive since the island disappeared?), Ben would like to go back but we don’t know if that is possible.
- What bad things happened on the island after they left, after all Locke was the head honcho of the Others and new king of the island and Whitmore’s people were all dead. And why is it solely Jack’s fault, the rest of them wanted off as well.
- According to the producers flashforward and flashback will loose meaning, while flash will have a new meaning altogether any ideas how the story will go from here? Immediately my thought was that perhaps we will have 2 storylines – one for the people still on the island and second one of the Oceanic 6 trying to come back. Any ideas?
- How cool was that scene when the island disappeared? And where did the second island go to as well?
- Sawyer shirtless well, I just had to mention it plus who would have thought he would risk his life to save Kate and his friends?
So what are your thoughts?

It was a great episode. I’m really curious about what terrible things happened on the Island after they left. But I have to wait 8-9 months to find out!

I know how you feel… it will be a long wait… I’m dying to know what happened and also how the story will go from here…. since I dont know much about script writing, I’m also curious do they have an complete idea, if last 2 season are already mapped out or how does it go exactly.
