Rant - sometimes a lazy tosser is just a lazy tosser
Oh honestly! The Daily Mail ran an article how Gordon Ramsay is being sued. For swearing and calling someone a lazy tosser.
Of course I am paraphrasing you can read the original article for yourself but honestly.
Martin Hyde was a manager in Dillons, New York restaurant that was featured in one of the episodes of Kitchen Nightmares. In case you have not seen the episode, well the restaurant had cockroaches and an assorted variety of bugs in the kitchen, a fair few managers and some ghastly sheets on the walls. Hygienic it was not.
Predictably Ramsay almost had a fit, at one point vein in his forehead was throbbing so bad I thought he was going to have a heart attack on the spot. And predictably his foul mouth Turret syndrome kicked in.
Now one of the sacked manager is screaming foul and wants Ł500.000 because his career is in tatters.
And I ask what career? Working in a Indian restaurant that had roaches all over the place was not much of a career to begin with.
The illustrious manager goes on to say scenes were faked for the camera and were edited so he would look like a lazy idiot. First of all, hello it is a reality show of course they are going to edit it so you’ll end up looking like a lazy idiot.
I cannot get over at the logic of these people. In 99% of the reality shows people are edited to look like morons and still people believe they will be made to look nice. Hm sorry but that is not good television.
I’m not saying that is a right thing to do, but honestly does anyone, ANYONE read those contracts before they sign them?
And second, allegedly Ramsay and his crew refused to film the cabaret show the illustrious manager was responsible for. Hm here I was thinking the show was about the food. And chefs. And the state of the kitchen. And presence or lack of roaches. The cheek of some people honestly.
I will not defend Ramsay, he has his lawyers to do that (and they are being paid for it and I’m not). But from what I could have gathered from the Kitchen Nightmares I have seen so far, he really does try even with the most clueless of chefs. And owners. Ok it might be some cunning editing again, but he really does seem to try to get them to be enthusiastic about cooking again. And he does seem to know a thing or 2 about business as well.
If he called you a lazy tosser and did not bother to go after you when you left you must have been pretty fraking bad.
