CouchSlobs - A Monument To Human Idleness

We all know that many of the Hollywood’s finest had some bizarre jobs before they made it big in Hollywood. However I am not talking about Whoopi Goldberg’s putting make up on dead people.
I am talking about those odd acting jobs some of them were forced to take to pay the bills. And once I have started digging I did uncover a good few gems.

• Terry O’ Quinn – Terry O’ Quinn was quite in-a-demand TV actor even before he landed his role of Locke on Lost. But did you know he made a regular appearance on JAG? In fact, much to my surprise in one episode he stared alongside Dr. Namaste (as I like to call him) from the Orientation movie. Coincidence? I think not.

• Josh Holloway - my favorite Lost castaway Sawyer (well after Hurley). But did you know he was featured as thief in the Aerosmith’s Crying video and had a role on Walker, the Texas Ranger?

• Harrison Ford - before he became Indy and Han Solo, did you know Harrison Ford stared in an episode of that old classic Dynasty? Indy on Dynasty now I have heard it all.

• Pamela Anderson – had a regular stint on sit-com Home Improvement and was featured as Al Bundy’s dream girl in one of the episodes of Married with Children.

• Matthew Perry – before he was one of the Friends, Matthew Perry had a role on that famous (and now resurrected) teen series Beverly Hills 90210. He played a tennis ace that tried to kill himself.

• Kate Walsh – before she was dr. Montgomery of Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, Kate Walsh stared in a episode of CSI Las Vegas playing a role of a transvestite.

• Bruce Willis – before he even landed his role on Moonlighting that shot him to prominence Bruce Willis stared in an episode of Miami Vice.

• George Clooney – before women all over the world started to lust over the infamous George and even before his stint on ER, George Clooney had a reoccurring role on Roseanne as Jackie’s love interest. George also did one episode of The Golden Girls. Blanche would approve.

• Jeffrey Dean Morgan – before he was Pappa Winchester on Supernatural and Denny of Grey’s Anatomy, Jeffrey Dean Morgan had a role on Walker, the Texas Ranger.

• Russell Crowe - before he became one of Hollywood’s leading man tough man Russell had a stint on Australian soap Neighbors.

• Tom Hanks - before he started to hook up with Meg Ryan in whichever given movie, Tom Hanks played an alcoholic uncle on that 80s favorite Family Ties

• Ben Affleck - before winning his Oscar and Good Will Hunting, before J.Lo and Jennifer Garner Ben Affleck was basketball player number 10 on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.No, I’m not kidding.

• Matt Damon - sexiest man alive according to People magazine did not fare much better then his buddy, he had one sentence on Mystic Pizza (with Julia Roberts).

• Courtney Cox - before she was super clean Monica on Friends and super dirty editor of well Dirt Courtney Cox played Alex P. Keaton’s girlfriend on Family Ties.

• Sarah Michelle Gellar - before she became Buffy the Vampire Slayer she had a stint on that popular soap All My Children.

• Jake Gyllenhaal - before the Brokeback Mountain Jake got his first shot at acting as Billy Crystal’s son in City slickers.

• Scarlett Johansson - Scarlett has been in the industry most of her life. But did you know she stared in Home Alone 3? And she even auditioned for Parent Trap, however that particular role went to Lindsay Lohan.

• Marg Helgenberger - before she started to play with guns and microscopes on CSI and even before that famous China Beach, Marg had a role on Matlock.

• Teri Hatcher - before she became the Desperate housewife, Teri Hatcher had a stint on Love Boat and Star Trek The Next Generation. Who would have thought she had it in her?

• Jason Dohring - my favorite broody boy of Veronica Mars had quite a stint before he became Logan. Jason stared in an episode of Baywatch, JAG, Cold Case and you can see him as a pimply youth in Deep Impact.

• Mariska Hargitay - before she went on to Law and Order: SVU Mariska appeared on Seinfeld, ER and my favorite Baywatch and Falcon Crest.
