Project Runway - who will be the winner?
As you know I am not really all that into watching reality shows, but Project Runway is an exception. Daft as it may sound, they are actually making something and this season there were some beautiful clothes to lust over.
Imagine my surprise when I have learned Jon Stewart (of all people) is also a fan, voicing my sentiment exactly – unlike with majority of reality shows the main purpose is not to sit on your arse bitch slapping anyone who comes within your shooting range. Ok there is an itsy bitsy of that going on as well, but surprisingly little when you consider a) it is a reality show and b) its fashion.
Be as it may the ever so delightful Tim Gunn was on both The Daily Show and on Conan O’Brien. That man makes me swoon, honestly. Tim Gunn. Not Conan, although when he is on the role… So enjoy the dashing Tim Gunn and don’t forget - don’t defend the shoe.
Now to the reunion episode of Project Runway.
I was a bit shocked to be honest. Everyone was so hm nice. Even the spoilt little brat that is Christian was subdued. It was rather uneventful and Ricky didn’t cry. Still for the life of me I don’t know who might be the winner because quite frankly I could not make heads or tails from this year’s judging process.
Rami is rebutted constantly for being drapey happy, while Christian produces the same thing over and over again and is hailed as commercial. Sweet P designs cute dress that any woman would wear but she is too commercial. And Jillian while I do love her fabulous coats, that last little gold number was as bad as Kevin’s dress that got him eliminated. Make up your mind will you?
Not to mention Chris who has made the biggest progress from his costumey “prostitute” outfits to some breathtaking dress constantly stays under the radar (and he is self taught hello?!).
I thought that was the whole point, you have talent, they tell you what you have to work on and you improve on that and make it your own. If anyone has done that this season it was Sweet P and Chris. She is out and although I’d love him to be in the final 3 I’m doubtful he will be (he just does not want to listen to Tim, naughty boy).
Anyhow in the next 2 weeks we will learn who the winner is.
Although from what I have gathered from reading about previous winners there are not really many options, they either a) design for QVC or b) end up as a “celebrity” correspondent that reports on next season’s Project Runway.
Next big American designer my arse. So who is your favorite?
