Dear faithful readers happy Stephen Fry Appreciation Monday!
I have to be frank and go on the record – I was a bit stumped about what I should write today. Although my enthusiasm for QI knows no bounds at the moment I do not want to bore you to death.
Plus of late I have been dispensing random trivia on friends and family (such as did you know octopus can be trained to open up a jar, now that is not really a normal topic you would discuss over coffee) which is usually met either with a blank stare, gazzy – eyed wonder or what are you on about?
Anyhow, I presume you are all fans and you know this stuff which makes you a much tougher audience to please. So without further ado, here is the today’s edition of Stephen Fry Appreciation Monday.
- It seems V for Vendetta has much fans, as yesterday Guy Fawkes was seen around the world. Hmmm I wonder what Daddy Dietrich would say? Be as it may, I was delighted (Anon rocks) but it had one nasty side-effect, once again I cannot get “Remember, remember the 5th of November” out of my head.
- I cannot believe I have actually missed last week’s edition of Dork Talk. Honestly I usually lose plot after the first paragraph (am a technically challenged blond after all) but I have strangely missed it. So I did a little rummage and I have managed to uncover these videos on Videojug where our lovely Mr. Fry talks about everything from being a geek to heroes (and no not the TV show, but as in people in general). I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Mr. Fry on learning
Mr. Fry on Internet
Mr. Fry on Web 2.0
Mr. Fry on heroes
- Another reminder that Couchslobs is going international next month, we will be in Norwich on March 6th so anyone who wants to join us for a beer is more then welcomed to. And I promised to myself I will extended the invite until the departure time – Mr. Fry is also cordially invited if he is back from the States and him and his arm can manage it. Oh and anyone with good pub suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments.
