Sci-Fi Channel - A Barrel Loads Of Fun Or Bucket Full Of Disappointment

sci-fi-channel-a-barrel-loads-of-fun-or-bucket-full-of-disappointment

I was watching my new Dune miniseries and thought how awesome shows Sci-Fi Channel has, when all of a sudden I came to a conclusion that, with exception of a few peals, Sci-Fi Channel is mostly loads of rubbish.

Amazon.com: Frank Herbert’s Dune (Sci-Fi TV Miniseries) (Special Edition Director’s Cut) (3-Disc DVD Set): Movies & TV: William Hurt,Alec Newman,Saskia Reeves,James Watson (IV),Jan Vlask,P.H. Moriarty,Robert Russell (VIII),Laura Burton (III),Ian McNeice,Matt Keeslar,Lszl I. Kish,Jan Unger,Giancarlo Giannini,Julie Cox,Miroslav Tborsk,Uwe Ochsenknecht,Barbora Kodetov,Jakob Schwarz,Karel Dobry,Christopher Lee Brown,John Harrison

Even though they do have a smash hit here and there, like Battlestar Galactica and Dune miniseries, most of their shows are just bad. I have a feeling that most of the writers working for them don’t really understand the concept of science fiction. To fulfill the educational part of this post, the main idea behind sci-fi is that it is believable, unrealistic (at this point in time), but possible. Can anyone really say that Sci-Fi’s version of Flash Gordon is believable? Or watchable at that! The worst thing is that their previously good shows like Galactica and Stargate have become boring.

Frank Herbert’s Children of Dune (Sci-Fi TV Miniseries) (Two-Disc DVD Set): Movies & TV: Alec Newman,Julie Cox,Edward Atterton,Ian McNeice,Barbora Kodetov,Steven Berkoff,Daniela Amavia,P.H. Moriarty,James McAvoy,Jessica Brooks (II),Jonathan Bruun,Rik Young,Martin McDougall,Gee Williams,Alice Krige,Susan Sarandon,Mariano Titanti,Marek Vasut,Jakob Schwarz,Klra Issov,Greg Yaitanes

In the words of one of the most entertaining people in TV now: I’m worried Sci-Fi! Get it together!

I loved the original book. I should perhaps give this a try.

However, I’m very disappointed with you, Bertas. You keep posting these YouTube videos without once featuring a clip of your most loyal reader. For instance, I think I look pretty damn good in this clip.

    Hi Richard,
Thanks for your loyalty, but actually the videos are not posted by bertas (or Roberta as we all know her), but by her co-slob Mark. I assure you the omission created on my part will be remedied today. Also with all my “Secret” powers I will do my best to earn you an Emmy. If not the real one, at least the plastic one from the 7-Eleven.
If you love Dune the book this is the best film adaptation of the book. Also you should check out Audible audiobook. It is phenomenal.

Oh Richard, I am blond and technically challenged my dear, if I put any video up the blog goes all wonky… :)

But thank you for the clip, you look particularly dashing and I love Ricky Gervaise… :)
