Sam was supposed to be the leader of the demon army, right? Until YED got himself shot, that is. Now, it should be a demon free-for-all, but I'm guessing they're waiting until later in the season to let us see that. I think they've also let the demon army story line take a backseat to the "how will Sam save Dean" plot. I'm okay with that, actually; the demons will still be there when Dean's year-to-live is finally up.
