CouchSlobs - A Monument To Human Idleness

No, I’m not talking about Kenny from South Park. He is a cartoon so he does not count.

I am talking about Jeffrey Dean Morgan. So far he has been killed in Weeds, Supernatural and Grey’s anatomy and then the writers have resurrected him in some way or another. Enough already!

I have not been following Weeds, but from what I gathered they have finished him off with a heart attack.

In Supernatural he traded his soul so that a demon would spare his sons. Ok the show is called Supernatural so it comes with a territory if your job is to kick some demon ass. Sometimes the demon wins.

But what bugs me the most is Grey’s anatomy. For any of you Grey’s anatomy fans the only thing I will say is Denny. It was my rallying cry for all of season 2 and the resurrection episode in season 3 (remember that episode of Seinfeld when Elaine got doped up on painkillers and went around shouting “Steeela”, yes well it looked like that but I kept saying “Deeeeny”).

There he is, this fabulous actor, his one-liners were to die for and did I mention he is exceptionally easy on the eye as well? They even gave him a new heart and then he just dropped dead. For no reason whatsoever. I bet you season 3 would be much more interesting if they have kept Denny around. Maybe then we would be spared of that whole Izzie-and-George-having-sex nausea.

So please, for the love of God give the man a full season. Preferably with no soul sucking demons or heart attacks or pulmonary edemas or whatnots. Honestly, enough is enough!

Don’t get me wrong I have nothing against Gil Grissom, he does appeal to my nerdy side and there is the definite gross factor what with all the bugs and whatnot.

But if I was the betting kind my money is on Horatio. No, wait I am the betting kind. Why is it a sure bet?

Horatio has a gun and he is not afraid to use it. I have not seen Gil Grissom use anything sturdier then a flashlight, but then again he is CSI while I do not know what Horatio thinks he is. Uber-cool vigilante or superhero or something. Me thinks he does have a super power, probably laser eyes as he keeps those sunglasses on at all times. He did master that whole standing sideways thing. And I love his remarks just before the opening credits; I still have not decided if they are supposed to be uber-cool or perfectly lame. But then again, Horatio is dancing on thin line between the two the whole time.

What I find fascinating is that both Grissom and Horatio did little or no actual lab work over the last few seasons. At least in the beginning there was the pretence they were actually doing something. Isn’t it the whole purpose of CSI to investigate the crime scene and the evidence?

Be as it may, my money is on Horatio. As I said he has a gun.

House has grown on me over the last few episodes. I have been quite fond of Hugh Laurie ever since his Black Adder/Jeeves and Wooster days. For all of you unfamiliar with the series he was always the resident moron. With House he has really found himself that sarcasm and wit is unbeatable, but then again that is what Brits are famous for. If they have only let him kept the British accent. But I digress.

This September brings a tinge of reality-show to House (I do hope writers know what they are doing). All 3 of his team members went in different directions and House hires 40 (yes 40!) new people to try and find 3 new replacements. I might be wrong, but knowing House this will give him an opportunity to take sadism to another level. In a way life is imitating art, as the cast and crew still do not know who is going to stay on permanently and who is going to leave the show. Only time will tell but me thinks this will either be ground breaking television at its best or the biggest flop ever.

House season 4 premieres on Fox Sept. 25^th.
